The Governance and Compliance Division manages various University-wide statutory compliance areas. The principal ones are:
- Information Compliance, including data protection, freedom of information and records management
- Compliance with the statutory Prevent Duty
- Compliance with statutory and regulatory duties in connection with freedom of speech and academic freedom
- Compliance with the statutory requirement to publish an annual modern slavery statement.
The Governance and Compliance Division does not manage all other University-wide statutory compliance areas (for example financial or health and safety laws and regulations). These are managed by various other University Divisions and departments.
